# Customizing Your Identity

Once you've minted your `.hype` name, you can personalize it with metadata, visual assets, and text fields. This not only makes your identity expressive - it also makes it legible to other dApps and dashboards.

### 🎭 Set an Avatar

* Choose from a selection of backgrounds (initial options: first 1,000 get a special version)
* Upload an image or select a preset (if/when offchain avatar hosting is enabled)

### 📝 Add Text Records

* Twitter handle, website, GitHub profile
* Any other metadata you want publicly associated with your name
* Compatible with ENS-style `text()` records

### 🪪 Claim Your Primary Name

* Set your `.hype` name as your default reverse record so it shows up in wallet UIs and supported apps

### 🔗 Visibility in Ecosystem

* When integrations go live, your name + metadata will display directly in partner protocols (e.g. Hyperswap trading profile)
* Text records can be queried by bots, dashboards, or other apps for identity display

> Every personalization adds structure and visibility to your onchain identity.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.dothype.io/quickstart/introduction-to-dothype/customizing-your-identity.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
